SHIFT. started from a simple market observation: in tier 2/3 India, a working app under the institute's own name makes that institute look more serious during admissions.

The product is not just a study tool. It is part of the institute's identity, sales pitch, and operating system. That is why SHIFT. is whitelabel instead of a single brand app. One institute onboarding can bring hundreds of students, and the institute gets something they can present as their own premium system.

The hero market is SSC and Bank coaching, where exam preparation is intense, recurring, and easy to track through daily behavior, mock tests, and long-term student data.

Product Strategy

Why PWA instead of a native app?

Many students use low storage phones and shared data plans. A PWA removes install friction, works better on low end devices, and lets a solo builder maintain one deployable product with instant updates.

Why whitelabel instead of one SHIFT. app?

Institutes do not want to promote a third party platform. They want their own branded app. Whitelabelling turns the product from a utility into an asset that improves perception, admissions, and local differentiation.

Why per student pricing with access codes?

Institute revenue scales with student count, so pricing should too. Access codes and single device binding protect that model by reducing sharing and revenue leakage while keeping pricing transparent.

Why direct pilots first?

This is a B2B2C product, so early adoption comes from direct sales and local relationships, not app stores or ads. A few pilot institutes create trust, visibility, and proof for the next wave of sales.
